Acne made worse by lifestyle?

There was a recent story where a woman cured her acne after making simple changes in her diet.

The main change was eliminating her intake of wheat with sandwiches and processed cane sugar in her tea.

Both can wreck havoc on our gut microbiome and many people don’t realise that the gut has a direct correlation to the health of the skinfrom acne to psoriasis.

Many beauty product companies don’t want you to know this and instead tout creams as the sole approach to a skin disorder when often it’s not.

For numerous reasons, one of them being that your skin plays a major part in detoxification. And obviously so does your gut.

My first step in coaching advice to anyone with skin challenges is to direct the attention to maintaining a healthy gut microbiome… Then go from there.

“dysbiosis in the skin and/or gut microbiome is associated with an altered immune response, promoting the development of skin diseases, such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, acne vulgaris, dandruff, and even skin cancer.”
